Katerina Diamantaki is Assistant Professor at Deree-The American College of Greece and Coordinator of its Master’s Program in Digital Communication and Social Media. She holds a degree in Politics from the University of London αnd a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Media and Communication Studies from the National University of Athens. Her scholarly expertise focuses primarily on New Media Studies from a socio-cultural perspective, but expands to other areas such as strategic communication, persuasion, audience research and memory/space studies. Her research interests also encompass the use of locative media in urban contexts and user-experience evaluation in relation to “intelligent” and hybrid technologies.
She has also taught courses of communication at graduate level at the University of Indianapolis, the Open University of Cyprus and the Open University of Greece. She is currently appointed as independent expert on community-building at the “EU-Community” Fp7 project, funded by the European Commission, while she also has extensive professional experience having worked as a communications specialist for the European Parliament, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other social, political and scientific organizations.
