Teaching at the MA “Communication and New Journalism” Program, Open University of Cyprus
Harry Platanakis is an expert on political philosophy and his research interests are both historical (with emphasis on ancient philosophy) and systematic (especially democratic theory, the egalitarian debate and human rights). He studied at the University of Crete (B.A. in Philosophy & Social Sciences), the University of Edinburgh (M.Sc. in Moral & Political Philosophy) and the University of Cambridge (Ph.D. in Ancient Political Philosophy). Apart from the Postgraduate Programme in Communication & New Journalism of the Open University of Cyprus, he has taught at Departments of Philosophy in England (at the University College London and Birkbeck, University of London) and Turkey (at the Koç University, Istanbul), while currently is appointed at the Department of Political Science at the University of Athens. His work has appeared in English, Greek and Turkish publications.
